Watch this video of the children of the American Crystal Sugar workers writing to the company about how this is affecting them.
More than a year ago, American Crystal Sugar locked out 1,300 skilled, experienced workers, members of Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM) at facilities in Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota. Before the lockout, American Crystal Sugar enjoyed a year of record profits, which CEO David Berg rewarded himself for with a 23% increase in his compensation that now totals $2.4 million annually. Since then, the working men and women of American Crystal Sugar have been blocked from their jobs, without paychecks and without health care benefits. Their families are suffering, particularly their children.
Watch this video to hear the stories of children of locked out workers. Then pledge to boycott American Crystal Sugar products until Berg and the company board members end the lock out and bargain a fair contract with workers.
